Balloch & Haldane Community Council's area is at the Gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Visitors to the area who have come across this web site via a search engine may find the information limited to their needs. However, there is some relevant information and a picture gallery for you to see what the place looks like. There are excellent websites: www.visit-balloch.com  and www.canyouexperience.com/links.asp which I am sure will meet all your tourist needs with links to accommodation, restaurants, caravan sites, golf clubs, outdoor activities and a host of other tourist information. Another site with information about Loch Lomond  area is loch-lomond.net

The Aquarium, Loch Lomond shoresIn 2002 Loch Lomond Shores opened to the public. Drumkinnon Tower was built as tourist centre with imac cinema and viewing galleries, one enclosed with coffee shop and the top level open to the elements.  The venture failed to attract sufficient visitors and in 2006 after a 10 month closure the structure opened again to the public as The Aquarium.

There is a retail crescent and this houses 'Jenners', a branch of the famous Edinburgh Store. This store was bought over in 2005 by House of Frazer but kept the trading name of Jenners.  There is free parking for 2000 cars behind the complex.

A number of events take place at Lomond Shores over the summer months.
